I have decided to start over.

All entries before August 17th, 2009 will not be tagged simply because I'm too lazy to go through and tag every single one of them. The only reason I'm not deleting them completely is because some of the entries are truly special to me.

The first week back and I already have une gamme de choses pour faire... (How's my French? XD)

Today, I had a board meeting for International Club. Crazy people, and I love them to death, but we need to stay on task XD

Tomorrow, the International Club meeting straight after school then color guard practice immediately after until 9 pm. Thank goodness for the hour-ish break between the end of the school day and the start of IC. If I didn't have that, then I wouldn't be able to start my homework until nearly 10 o'clock O.o;;

I've made a promise to myself. Not really a New Year's Resolution because it's kind of silly, but I've decided to try to avoid fangirling too hard over SHINee. So, Diva Key of my dreams, this is adieu. For a while.

Meh.

But before I do that, did you see this pic? From the 'Just Dance' performance on an end-of-the-year show... KBS? I think? I wasn't SBS and I'm pretty sure MBC was the last one... I dunno. But the performance was gorgeous and everyone looked amazing (yes, even Taemin in his diamond-printed half-tunic - it's progressive fashion, you don't get that kind of unique just any day). Key completely took on the Gaga persona which, you know, I totally don't mind because Lady Gaga is my effin' hero.

I finally feel like I understand SHINee's fashion choices now. I thought the 'Ring Ding Dong' concept was pretty much genius (not necessarily song-wise, but fashion-wise). Remixing classic pieces and making them work. Jonghyun's the only person in K-Pop that I can think of that can pull off a practically deteriorating net-poncho and look gorgeous while doing so.

And Key's hair. I don't understand the wank that the multi-colored streaks was getting. It was eye-catching. Bright colors contrasted on a dark palette definitely works for him. It's too bad the color was stripped - the silver streaks now look fine, but the colored strands had a bit more versatility in my opinion. In the wrong light, the silver can look like he's starting to get salt-and-pepper hair a bit too early.

But still. Fabulous.

Anyways, Key and Gaga should meet. It'd be interesting to see what monstrous (yet gorgeous) fashion creations would come of it.

My mom. I love her and all, but I don't want to go to the United States Navy Academy. I don't care if I'm guaranteed a job after I graduate, i want to go through the grueling process of struggling to succeed in the real world like everyone else and have moments where I doubt my ability followed by moments where I discover self-sufficiency and confidence, like I should! I respect the people in the USNA and I admire the fact that they can make it through particularly strenuous training and education, but I'm not cut out to be an officer. I have zero knack for strategy, I have a strong flight instinct as opposed to fight. And being in the Navy is not what I want to do.

And yet she makes me apply. She comes into my room and says, "We're going to apply. You keep forgetting, I'm going to make sure you do it."
Well, gee, thanks ma. Maybe there's a reason why I "forget" to apply. You think?

Thank you ma, really, I appreciate the fact that you're so concerned for my future. But I am not going to the USNA. Not even if they offer me a full ride.

I don't know what I'm going to do. All I know is that it's something to do with the world, and not with the Navy.

• I will be turning 18 on May 22, 2010
• I will be graduating high school on May 29, 2010
• My eldest brother will be graduating college in May of this year.
• I will find out what colleges accepted me and where I am going in the fall in March and April of this year.
• My first day of college.
• My first day of living on my own.

In 2010, I am turning 18, OFFCIALLY an ADULT!! I can't even fathom - I've been a kid for so long - I don't know if I'll be any good as an adult.

But all in all, I hope 2010 is as good as and hopefully EVEN BETTER than 2009.

Good bye, 2009. You have given me so many days of happiness and days of pain and taught me unforgettable lessons. But I'm ready for a new year, a new me.

I have a ridiculously long lab report due tomorrow. We did the lab Tuesday, went over it today, and she expects us to have it done by tomorrow, along with AP free response questions due by the end of the first period we have Chem. If we couldn't even do the entire lab within the time frame permitted to us for class, what makes her think that we have enough time in just one night to get it all done? ESPECIALLY if we have other classes to tend to and for a fair amount of people in her class, a BAND CONCERT as well? Ugh, it's so much stuff.

On a brighter note. It's Minho's birthday today? Or sometime soon? Something like that? All I know is that he's legal XD Really an "oppa" to me, I guess then XD

Bright spots of the K-Pop fandom:

• Super Junior's Super Show II Live Album. Seriously, so much love for them. All the tracks sound amazing. And Kyu Hyun's "Puff the Magic Dragon" is so adorbs. Seriously, never change ♥
• Wonder Girls on SYTYCD. Wonder Girls on my So You Think You Can Dance?! I love that show so much! Honest to God, it's my favorite. I can't believe I missed it though. Stupid band concert. Hindering my leisure time so I can have an equal balance of work and leisure. And cutting into my precious lab time. Grrr. But from the video, they did splendidly. SYTYCD is a really good launch pad for any artist. Lady Gaga had her first major TV performance on SYTYCD. It's a good show that reaches a lot of people. Their popularity is sure to grow now :)
• SHINee in the Philippines for the 60th Annual Philippine-Korean Friendship Celebration or something like that. I wish I lived in the Philippines. Family, food, and SHINee too, apparently XD But really. I hope they got a good impression of the Filipinos... Screaming hordes of fangirls isn't exactly the most positive portrayal of the Filipino people, but I hope they realize that we're really hospitable :)

Not-so-bright spots in the fandom:

• Apparently another fan got inspired by Ok Taecyon's (spelling? not really that into 2PM...) blood letter and another fan made one for an MBlaq member... Only she slit her wrists and wrote in THAT blood. While menstrual blood is pretty nasty, sprinkled with pubes, self-harm is just no. But still, both are rather disturbing.

Yeah, so that's all I have...

All my college stuff is in. Well, most of it. I just need to send in the Harvard supplement, follow up on my counselor with her stuff, and schedule interviews. But the hard part is over - the actual application. I dunno why, but it just took so long to get that done. It was ridiculous ~_~;;

But other than this lab, life is rather stress-less. It's been good. Finals soon. And then sweet winter break~
